Be inspired by their motivations, dreams and experiences - and discover how they are building something beautiful together on this sunny island.

Interview with buyers Kees & Ellen

Kees and Ellen have been together for 22 years and form a close-knit family with five children and six grandchildren. In daily life, Ellen works at the service desk of a care institution and Kees has been self-employed in the cleaning and window cleaning business for 25 years.

What binds them apart from their family and work? A shared love for Curaçao.

Why Curaçao?

“From the first time we came to Curaçao, it immediately felt different,” they recount.
“As soon as you step off the plane, a sense of calm overwhelms you. A kind of coming home.”

Whereas other holidays are often enough after 10 days or so, here that very feeling lingered.
“We went back several times and each time it was the same: we didn't really want to leave.”

When did the idea to invest arise?

After years of holidays on the island, the idea of building something of our own began to grow.
“We thought about it for a long time,” they explain. “But at some point it just feels right and you take that step.”

The choice fell on a flat within Baia Vista - a place that for them brings together peace, space and future.

Why Baia Vista?

The location was the deciding factor for Kees and Ellen.
“Baia Vista is on the east coast, near a beautiful bay where there is still a lot of development to come. At the same time, there is a nice beach nearby.”

That very combination appealed to them.
“It is quieter than the familiar places, and that suits us. Especially since we both have busy jobs.”

Why a penthouse?

The choice of a penthouse was quickly made.
“The balcony runs all around, giving you views in several places. That makes it really special.”

For them, it's not just about the house itself, but more importantly the experience of it.

How do you look to the future?

After completion, they first want to fully enjoy their place on the island themselves.
“We want to be there together, but also let our children enjoy it.”

After that, they also see opportunities in rentals.
“The demand for rental flats is high, so we expect there will definitely be interest in that.”

How are you experiencing the trajectory so far?

As with many buyers, the process also brings excitement.
“Of course, it remains exciting how everything goes from construction to completion,” they frankly admit.

At the same time, they experience confidence in the process.
“We are kept well informed by Nanne and Richard on site, including through photos and updates on social media. That really helps.”

What are you most looking forward to?

“The delivery,” they say without hesitation.
“And the moment when you are actually there, getting to know the other residents.”

For Kees and Ellen, Baia Vista is more than an investment.
It is a place where family, peace and future come together - under the sun of Curaçao.
