We are proud to announce that Ferdy Gevers has been appointed as independent regulator for Baia Vista.

Ferdy is a structural engineer and has been active in the Caribbean since 2010, including as a construction cost expert at MNO Vervat and later as co-shareholder and head of construction costs at Aquarius Construction Company. In 2024, he founded Lucid with which he focuses entirely on construction supervision and project development in Curaçao.

With almost 20 years of international experience, Ferdy brings not only technical expertise but also a keen eye for quality and efficiency.

What will Ferdy do?
On our behalf, Ferdy will supervise the construction of the first phase of Baia Vista as project manager and consultant. His role is advisory and controlling: he represents the client and ensures that the construction proceeds according to schedule, budget and agreed quality. Specifically, this includes:

• Supervision & control: weekly presence on the construction site, monitoring planning, identifying risks and deviations.

• Quality & execution: monitor compliance with technical agreements and contracts, and advise on construction methods and material choices.

• Financial monitoring: Checking payment requests from the contractor and advising on appropriate times of disbursement.

• Communication: Ferdy reports findings and signals to the developer. To keep lines of communication short and efficient, communication with buyers goes through the development team and not directly through Ferdy. However, he does support joint buyer moments or construction site visits.

• Reporting: periodic reporting of progress, risks and quality.

• Technical advice: reviewing working drawings, additional and less work and deliveries of materials.

• Delivery: Carry out technical preliminary surveys and advise on the preparation of handover to buyers.

Through this broad role, Ferdy ensures that, as a developer, we have independent insight into construction progress, quality and costs. For buyers, this means extra assurance that their home will be realised with the utmost care and attention.
